Jana Martínez .. capri

Jana Martínez (2003) is a Barcelona-based artist whose multidisciplinary practice moves between audiovisual work, set design, textiles, and creative direction. Her work is driven by an ongoing exploration of materials, aesthetics, and personal narratives, allowing her practice to constantly evolve through processes of experimentation, modification, and refinement.

She recently graduated in Fine Arts from BAU, Centre Universitari d’Arts i Disseny de Barcelona. During her studies, she completed an Erasmus exchange programme in Fine Arts at Kingston University in London in 2024. Previously, she studied Fashion Design at IED Barcelona during the 2021–2022 academic year, an experience that continues to inform her interest in textiles, the body, and materiality.

Jana Martínez (2003) es una artista afincada en Barcelona cuya práctica multidisciplinar se mueve entre el trabajo audiovisual, el diseño de sets, el textil y la dirección creativa. Su trabajo parte de una exploración constante de los materiales, la estética y las narrativas personales, permitiendo que su práctica evolucione a través de procesos de experimentación, transformación y desarrollo.

Recientemente se graduó en Bellas Artes por BAU, Centre Universitari d’Arts i Disseny de Barcelona. Durante sus estudios realizó un programa de intercambio Erasmus en Bellas Artes en Kingston University, Londres, en 2024. Anteriormente, estudió Diseño de Moda en IED Barcelona durante el curso 2021–2022, una experiencia que continúa influyendo en su interés por los textiles, el cuerpo y la materialidad.

For DOMINNICO’s pre-show at the April 2026 edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion, I developed the set design for the photocall in collaboration with Albert Gispert (@albrtgsprrt)

The proposal consisted of a 2 × 1.90 m curtain constructed from laser-cut white acrylic pieces shaped after the DOMINNICO logo. Each module was connected through metal chains, creating a crossed pattern that introduced movement, transparency and rhythm to the installation.

Rather than functioning as a simple backdrop, the structure translated the brand’s visual identity into a physical and modular element. The combination of the white acrylic and metallic chains created a graphic composition that interacted with light and space while providing a distinctive setting for the presentation of the collection.
